The Museum was originally set up by Hursley IBMer Len Peach over twenty years ago, in response to a one-off request for an Open Day. From that start, the Museum has grown in an ad hoc manner. Terry Muldoon and Peter Short made huge contributions as volunteers from 2010 – 2016 and 2011-2024 respectively.

The current curation team is six volunteers.

Mark joined the team in 2011. Nick arrived 2015, followed by Peter in 2017 and Derek 2023. The latest arrivals are Chris 2024 and Ed in 2025. All the curators are IBM retirees from various hardware and software engineering roles.
